Peter and I made a trip to Alamosa in February 2005. We visited two bird sanctuaries early in the morning. The light was quite magical and we saw no other cars. However, it was cold! I stayed in the car and made a charcoal drawing while Peter braved the cold and made this photo. It really captures the exquisite beauty of winter, don't you think?
